We support Trees for Life. For every week of hire we pay for the planting of one native tree in Scotland’s Highlands.
Remember – Hamish costs the same as a car on CalMac ferries.

Start by clicking on the day you’d like to pick Hamish up. Dates that are blue are dates that you can pick up. Dates that are black are available but they are not allocated pick up / drop off days. Once you’ve clicked a desired pick up day the calendar will automatically show you when the available drop offs are by highlighting them darker blue. Click on your drop off day then use the drop down box to tell us how many people are in your party. Ignore the bit that says ‘not including infants’ – please tell us the total number of adults plus children travelling. (This doesn’t affect the cost.) The yellow box on the bottom right will then display your rental cost.

You must be between 23 and 75 years of age to drive this camper. You must hold a valid drivers license which allows you to drive both automatic and manual cars. You must have held this license for a minimum of two years.
When you collect the camper we will need to take a copy of your drivers licence and copies of two additional forms of ID. All must have matching addresses.
Changes by the DVLA mean that the paper counter part of the drivers license is no longer valid. This has been replaced with an online database. In order to fulfil the requirements of our insurers we need to view your online records. The DVLA system enables you to share your records with third parties that you authorise. After you’ve booked we will send you details on how to do this.
Pick up and drop off is from Oban.
If you have points on your license please check with us before booking. It is often fine but we do need to check with our insurers. You must also disclose any motoring accidents (your fault or not) that you have been involved in during the last five years.
On booking you will be asked to pay a deposit of 10% of the total hire cost. Deposits are refundable up to three months prior to pick up. Within the three month period deposits are not refundable or transferable. Payment of the balance is due 30 days prior to collection. Cancellation within 30 days incurs full charge unless the camper can be re-let.
If you are booking within 30 days of pick up you will be asked to pay for the full period.
Insurance, for one driver, is included. You can add other drivers as ‘extras’ at £5 per day.
Duvets and pillows are included but sheets / towels are not. These can be added at ‘extras’ at £20 per double set, or you can bring your own.
Our insurance requires a £500 security deposit. (£750 for non UK licenses.) The usual way to pay the security deposit is by a credit card ‘pre authorisation’. This means we have the capacity to take the payment but only if damage is caused. If you don’t have a credit card we can take the security deposit by bank transfer or by debit card.
Please note that if you are booking for more than a week we will need the security deposit in cleared funds. For further information please see our separate note explaining security deposits.
