Stand out from the crowd in this retro classic. Shug is a 2003 VW T4 in absolutely mint condition. We bought Shug a couple of years ago from his one prior owner – we completed the conversion in late 2020. So this is a very low milage T4 in absolutely brilliant condition with a brand new Wild Campers conversion.

There is belted seating for 5 and sleeping for 4. The RIB rock n roll bed is the best on the market and this one is extra wide. There’s a 50 litre fridge and a twin gas hob. For night time we have fitted black out curtains and a cosy diesel heater.

This van is an absolute beauty! Rent him now from Wild Campers Glasgow.

All of our vans come with diesel heaters – these make a huge difference to life in a camper van during the winter time. So if you hire from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban or Mull you’ll get a van that has super cosy duvets and a 2KW diesel heater.

If you hire our VW camper from Inverness you’ll get the option of adding a dedicated winter pack to your hire.

Our Inverness van has a diesel heater as standard – and during winter months

the van is fitted with dedicated winter tyres.

The Winter Pack adds:

  • Thermal cover for pop top
  • Thermal windscreen cover
  • Two toasty hot water bottles

So don’t discount winter in Scotland in a camper van. As long as you have the right van with the right gear it can be a cosy and exhilarating adventure!

There are many fantastic islands to visit off the coast of Scotland. Whether you are interested in the Outer Hebrides, Mull, Skye and the Inner Hebrides or even Orkney and Shetland we can provide a camper van or motor home to suit your needs and your budget. With hire locations in Oban and on Mull we provide the perfect start point for any west coast island hopping adventure. All our vans get on Calmac ferries for the same rate as a car – travel by ferry in Scotland is very affordable.

Is it OK to camp wild in a camper van?

Access laws in Scotland mean that you are allowed to camp on most unenclosed land. Whilst this law does specifically exclude the use of motorised campervans, it is widely acknowledged that as long as common sense is employed the practice of wild camping in a motorhome is accepted.

If you are considering a camper van holiday in Scotland then Wild Campers can provide you with great advice on where to go. All of us use our campers for our own holidays so we have lots of direct experience of finding some of Scotland’s best wild camping spots.

Remember – all of our campers come with complimentary sat nav.

We have a more comprehensive guide to wild camping in a camper van on our website.

At Wild Campers Scotland we have locations across the country. You can collect your camper van from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban or Mull.

Glasgow and Edinburgh are great starting points for any camper van or motorhome adventure in Scotland. Our Edinburgh depot is located in central Edinburgh with easy public transport options and is also very close to Edinburgh Airport. Glasgow is based just south of Glasgow and offers free parking.

If you are thinking about exploring the west of Scotland or the Scottish Islands in a camper or motor home then check out our bases in Oban and on Mull. In Oban we have a Mercedes Sprinter camper available – the Sprinter is a great option if you want something a little bigger but don’t want a full blown motorhome. On Mull we have a classic VW T4 camper. Converted in the winter of 2019 / 2020 this old school beauty has seating for five, a pop top and a diesel heater.

Our camper hire locations across Scotland give you great options for where to start your Scotland road trip. Our fleet offers a range of size of campers at a budget to suit everybody.
