Wild Campers has workshop facilities on Mull and in Glasgow. We do things a little differently in that we collect your van from your front door and deliver it back to you once the job is done. This service is offered free within Scotland and by negotiation throughout the rest of the UK.

In general terms we are only able to offer full conversions.

The conversion process starts with a conversation. By phone, e mail or preferably face to face we talk through your ideas, budgets and timeframes.

Throughout the process you’ll be dealing with Neil. As well as managing the process he will also be doing all of the work on your van. We only take on one van at a time which means you can be sure of direct communication and, on the whole, timescales that are clearly set out and then achieved.

Neil was incredibly helpful when I was looking to buy a van and gave me advice in terms of what to look for and what questions to ask the seller. I was therefore only too happy to go back to Neil to do the work needed once I’d bought the van. I’ve been delighted with what he has done. The van was partially converted when I got it and the layout is different from a standard conversion – the work Neil has done is unobtrusive and in keeping with the style. Once you’ve decided exactly what it is you want we will work on timeframes. A conversion takes roughly 6 – 8 weeks depending on the scale of the job. Slots, particularly at the start of the year, get booked up fast. Some people choose to book their slot with some basic plans in place and then work on the detail during the lead up to the slot.

Booking a slot involves paying a deposit of £1000. We then ask for 50% of the total cost six weeks from the start of the job. The remainder is payable on the day we deliver your camper.

The attention to detail in the camper van is first class. I’d challenge anyone to find anything better!

During the conversion process we take a lot of detailed photographs. When we deliver your camper you’ll get these photos as well as a folder containing all certificates, warranties and instruction manuals. Seeing the detail of a conversion is obviously important to the owner but also to prospective buyers if you ever come to sell your camper.

Our conversion work is guaranteed for 12 months. In addition many of the parts that we use will have their own warranties that are longer.
